Horton Emergency Vehicles offers the Critical Care Transport Series, a full line of custom-designed specialty vehicles. Available on a variety of chassis, the series features accomodations for hydraulic isolette lifts, auxiliary generators, blanket and IV warmers, global positioning systems, refrigeration for critical temperature-sensitive drugs, intravenous pumps and drug carts. Since these units typically transport long distances and are one-of-a-kind vehicles, many of them require back-up systems to ensure patient protection and continuing treatment even in the event of a chassis failure. Available interior features are determined by function, and include Avonite countertops, bucket seats and cabinets for special equipment. Lifts come ina variety of styles to handle stretchers and isolettes with side or rear access. Optional liquid 02 is also available, offering increasing carrying capacity and easy refills for Critical Care and Neo-Natal vehicles. For traditional bottled 02, electric bottle lifts protect personnel from heavy lifting.
